AHC Library Laptops

AHC Library Hotspots
- Available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Low-Cost Internet Options
- California Connects – $19.99/month hotspot service for CCC students (up to 10 devices, 10 hrs/charge, no contract).
- National Digital Inclusion Alliance – list of current ISP offers under $30/month.
- United Ways of California – search for low-cost internet by zip code.
- Santa Maria Public Library – limited mobile hotspots for loan.
AHC Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi is available in all Santa Maria, Lompoc, and Santa Ynez campus buildings. Outdoor Wi-Fi is also available on the Santa Maria campus at:
- Patio between the Library and the Student Center
- Parking lot outside Gym (Building N)
- In front of Building S
- Parking lot near Humanities (Building C)

Community Wi-Fi
- Santa Maria Public Library
- AT&T – public hotspots and low-cost home internet for qualifying households.
- Verizon Forward – free/discounted internet for SNAP-eligible households.
Equipment Loan Policies & Procedures
Review AHC’s Computer & Network Use Policy (BP 3720) and Standards of Student Conduct (BP 5500) before borrowing equipment.
Devices are loaned for the semester and must be returned at the end of term. Students who withdraw from all classes must return devices immediately.
Loan Guidelines
- Chromebooks and hotspots loaned for one semester.
- Agreement form required at checkout.
- For academic use by borrower only.
- One-time loans, first-come, first-served.
- Students needing ongoing accommodations must secure personal equipment.
Returns
- Return by due date, in good condition.
- Log off accounts and delete personal data.
- Library staff inspects all equipment upon return.
Damaged, Lost, or Stolen Equipment
- Protect equipment and report issues promptly: 805-922-6966 ext. 3683.
- If stolen, file a police report and provide a copy. If on campus, also notify Campus Police.
- Late, damaged, or missing items may result in charges, registration holds, or loss of borrowing privileges.
If your device is lost, stolen, or damaged, contact the Library—we will work with you on a solution.
Equipment Care
- Handle with care; normal wear and tear is expected.
- Negligent or intentional damage, or lost accessories, are not covered.
- Do not lend borrowed equipment to others.
All personal content is deleted when equipment is returned.
