Welcome Military Connected Students!
IMPORTANT: Remember to complete all steps including orientation and provide your Military ID or DD-214 to Admissions & Records in order to be eligible for priority registration (Veterans and Active Duty only).
Allan Hancock College's Veteran Success Center assists prospective and enrolled student veterans, active duty, or dependents of veterans in utilizing education benefits, completing the admission application process, registering for classes, accessing campus resources, getting involved in leadership activities, and transitioning into civilian life. In addition, the center also offers connections to mental health and health services, computer access, learning assistance information, and access to tutoring. Ask about our Veteran Success Center garden and VA Work Study opportunities to learn about different ways to get involved!
BOOK AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE VSC SPECIALIST
The VA will not approve courses that are not part of a Student Education Plan. A counseling appointment is required to obtain a Comprehensive Student Education Plan. Students newly enrolled, returning from 2 semesters prior, or students wishing to change their major are recommended to see a counselor regularly to prevent delays in receiving benefits.
NOTE: The VSC Specialist is NOT able to create a Comprehensive Student Education Plan. An appointment with a counselor is REQUIRED.
The counseling center can provide an education plan for you to submit for our education benefits. Any of the counselors can assist with this. Several of the counselors have worked directly in the Veteran Success Center, including David Hernandez, Cecelia Teniente, Ben Britten, and Carissa Perales.
