Location: California Nature Art Museum
Enrollment Fee: $35 per class
Ages: 8–12

Program Entry:

  • Pre-registration required. Register in person by completing and submitting the College for Kids registration form, or contact chloe.stanley@hancockcollege.edu.
  • Submit the form along with class and materials fees. Use one form per student (forms may be duplicated). Registrations are processed in the order received.
  • Payment methods: check (payable to AHC), cash, or credit/debit card.
  • Parents may not sit in or audit classes without prior instructor approval.
  • For safety, enrollment and registration details are not shared over the phone. Parent/guardian status must be verified in person.

Program Guidelines:

  • Courses are offered for ages 4–18. Please check each listing carefully to confirm age eligibility. All classes are coed unless noted otherwise.
  • Students are expected to behave appropriately to support learning. Disruptive students will be dismissed without refund.
  • Classes meet Monday–Saturday at varying times and dates. Review the schedule closely.

Injury/Accident Disclaimer:

  • Some classes carry a risk of injury. Participation is voluntary and assumes all associated risks.
  • College for Kids students do not pay the Health Supervision and Services Fee and are not covered by the college accident insurance policy.

Transportation:

  • Parents are responsible for transportation to and from classes and field trips. AHC is not responsible for students outside of class time.
  • Parents should walk children to and from class and pick them up promptly.
  • If a child is not picked up within 15 minutes, the instructor will escort them to the Community Education office (Bldg. S) or Campus Police, and a parent/guardian will be called.

Refund Policy:

  • No refunds are given once a class starts. Students must drop at least one day before the start date to be eligible for a refund.
  • If a class is canceled before it begins, a full credit will be applied to your account.
  • If you drop before the first class and request a refund, you will receive a full refund of class and materials fees. Exceptions may be considered for extenuating circumstances before the first class.
  • Refund requests must be submitted at the Community Education office (Bldg. S) using the Refund Request form, within the deadlines above.

Community Information

The College for Kids (CFK) program, established in 1984, is sponsored by the Community Education Department to expand educational opportunities for local youth.

The program is self-supporting and receives no taxpayer funding. All classes are fee-based (fees vary). Registration must be completed in person at Community Education (Bldg. S) on the AHC Santa Maria campus.
