Allan Hancock College’s computer business office technology (CBOT) program offers the specialized training students need to quickly enter the workforce and find success in a growing industry with high demand. In fact, employment for a variety of administrative and office management jobs in the fields of business, government, or education are projected to grow 6% percent from 2019 to 2029, which is faster than the average for all occupations!
Classes focus on learning the administrative operations and procedures required to support organizations, as well as the software application skills needed to be technically proficient in an office setting. Additional areas of focus allow students to gain practical expertise in legal office procedures, customer service, presentation and publishing skills, business communication, administrative and office procedures, and technical office skills.
Training includes all phases of administrative operations, management essentials, and business communication. Students will also learn important software applications needed in the administrative field, such as Word, Publisher, Excel, PowerPoint, and records management.

A review of essential management skills including the role of the supervisor, supervisory challenges, and related human resources responsibilities. Prerequisite: Placement based upon Allan Hancock College's placement policy.
