An evening filled with spectacular scientific demonstrations and hands-on activities returns to the Santa Maria campus on Friday, May 3, 2019, from 6-8:30 p.m.

The festivities will also include a walk-in planetarium, explosive stage show starring our chemistry faculty and a design village created by Hancock architecture students.

  • Friday Night Science is a free event and no pre-registration or sign-up is required.
  • Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. 
  • Hands-on exhibits are located in the labs inside the science building.
  • There are demonstrations and experiments for all ages (five and up) to enjoy!
  • Most exhibits are designed for students from fifth-grade to high school seniors.
  • Approximately 100 Hancock students will help facilitate learning at the hands-on exhibits.
  • About half of the students speak Spanish and can act as translators for the hands-on demonstrations.
