Whether you’re just starting your path in public safety or taking the next step toward becoming a paramedic, the EMT Academy is where your career in emergency medical services begins. Designed for driven, compassionate individuals ready to make a difference, this intensive, hands-on program prepares students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to perform in the dynamic world of prehospital care.
Applications for the Allan Hancock College EMT Academy are accepted year-round on
a continual basis.
However, to be included in the selection process for an upcoming academy, you must
submit your completed application no later than 45 days prior to the semester start date. This allows adequate time for student selection, onboarding,
and completion of required pre-academy courses.

Please Note: Ensure that you have all required documents prepared before beginning your application, as it is recommended that the application be completed in a single session. You will need:
- Two professional letters of recommendation (preferably from employers, colleagues, coaches, professors, etc.)
- High school or college transcripts (unofficial transcripts are acceptable)
- Access to myHancock student email account for communication regarding the application, we will not be sending emails to personal email addresses
