Build Strong Problem‑Solving Skills Through Mathematics
Mathematics helps you understand patterns, analyze real‑world problems, and communicate complex ideas clearly. Allan Hancock College’s mathematics program builds a strong foundation in problem solving, modeling, and logical reasoning that prepares students for transfer and careers in STEM and related fields.
Students learn how to apply mathematical concepts using multiple approaches and technologies, gaining skills that support majors in science, engineering, computer science, business, and more.
This program will help you to:
- utilize a broad range of problem‑solving techniques and strategies
- interpret and draw inferences from mathematical models such as formulas, graphs, and tables
- create and analyze mathematical models of real‑world and/or theoretical situations
- use appropriate technologies to analyze and solve mathematical problems
- become a more effective and efficient problem solver
