Allan Hancock College’s music program prepares students for employment in the areas of music teaching, music performance, merchandising, recording, church music positions, public recreation departments, private teaching, and many other related fields of the music industry. In this program, students will learn how to analyze and notate music using traditional Western music notation, theory, and harmony, as well as learn performance skills as a member of an instrumental or vocal ensemble.
The associate degree will prepare students seeking employment in the commercial music industry or to transfer to a four-year university.
