Earn your BSBA with a Management and Human Resources concentration at Allan Hancock College — starting Fall 2026.

The Cal Poly Bachelor’s Pathway at Hancock program allows students to earn a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) with a Management and Human Resources (MHR) concentration beginning Fall 2026, taught on the Allan Hancock College campus by Cal Poly faculty.

About the MHR Program

The Management and Human Resources (MHR) concentration prepares students for professional roles in recruitment, staffing, training and development, compensation, and related people-focused work. The curriculum emphasizes four key competencies for transformational business leaders:

  1. Leveraging strong people skills
  2. Cultivating inclusive and equitable workplaces
  3. Navigating uncertainty with confidence
  4. Solving problems using data and analysis

How to Apply

  1. Review Course Criteria — Applicants should review Cal Poly’s transfer course criteria for business. If you’re unsure whether your courses meet the criteria, meet with an advisor at the UTC. 

  2. Apply — Apply for the Cal Poly Bachelor’s Pathway at Hancock Program for Fall 2026 (B.S. Business Administration, MHR concentration). When applying to Cal Poly through Cal State Apply, select “Business @ Allan Hancock College” as your major.

Financial Aid
Be sure to include Cal Poly’s school code (001143) on financial aid applications. Cal Poly will administer financial aid for this program.


Is this degree right for you? 

Course Availability
Curriculum will be offered only in Fall and Spring terms at the Allan Hancock College campus and taught by Cal Poly faculty. Specific course offerings and flowcharts will be provided later.

Unit Load
• First year: 14 units in Fall and 14 units in Spring
• Second (final) year: 17 units in Fall and 15 units in Spring

Course Schedule
Courses are offered in the evenings to support working students and student-parents. Typical meeting times: Monday–Thursday, 5:00–7:40 p.m., with one early course per week (typically Monday) from 4:00–5:00 p.m.

Degree Requirements
Students will follow the Cal Poly semester catalog for Business Administration with a concentration in MHR.

Additional Coursework
Students with fewer than 60 units, or those missing lower-division requirements, may need to complete additional coursework. It is strongly recommended that applicants meet with an Allan Hancock College transfer counselor to confirm requirements before applying.
