FYE Program Learning Outcomes

Mission 

FYE@AHC empowers first-year students to build academic confidence, strengthen their sense of belonging, and achieve their educational goals through holistic, culturally responsive support beginning on day one. 

Vision 

FYE @ AHC will lead the way in fostering resilient scholars, connected communities, and intentional learning pathways by integrating instruction and student services to promote long-term success and equity.

FYE Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs) 

PLO 1: College Navigation & Resource Use 


Students will identify, explain the purpose of, and appropriately use key campus resources, services, and support networks. 

PLO 2: Educational & Career Planning 


Students will develop and maintain an intentional academic and career plan aligned to their goals. 

PLO 3: Onboarding Readiness 


Students will demonstrate readiness to start strong by completing required onboarding milestones. 

PLO 4: Academic Engagement & Help-Seeking 


Students will engage in proactive academic behaviors and seek support to enhance learning. 

PLO 5: Persistence & Momentum 


Students will sustain enrollment and demonstrate first-year momentum toward completion/transfer goals. 

PLO 6: Progress Monitoring & Self-Management 


Students will use college tools to monitor their progress and make timely decisions.
