Hancock Encourages Students to Register for Fall Classes

JULY 18, 2025-- Allan Hancock College is still accepting registrations for the upcoming fall semester, which begins Aug. 18.

“Fall is a great time for students to take that next step,” said Hancock Superintendent/President Kevin G. Walthers, Ph.D. “Whether they are pursuing a degree, a certificate, or just exploring something new, our faculty and staff are here to support their success.”

With hundreds of classes available in-person and online, there’s never been a better time for students to pursue their educational goals.

Students who recently graduated from a local high school may also qualify for two years of free tuition through the Hancock Promise. In addition, in-person degree pathways are available at the college’s Lompoc Valley Center, making it easier for Lompoc-area students to stay local while pursuing their education.

To make the registration process easier for new students and their parents, Hancock is currently hosting “Bulldog Express” events every Monday and Tuesday through Aug. 12 from 3-6 p.m. at the college’s Santa Maria campus. At these events, students can apply for admission, complete their financial aid applications, complete Promise steps, register for classes, and more. Hancock’s Lompoc Valley Center is hosting a Bulldog Express event from 3-6 p.m. on July 21 and Aug. 5. No appointments needed.

Once students are registered for classes, they and their parents are also invited to attend the college’s Hancock Hello orientation events from 4-6:30 p.m. on Aug. 5 at the LVC and Aug. 12 at the Santa Maria campus.

In addition to its credit classes, Hancock continues to offer noncredit classes for students looking to learn English, bolster their job skills, train for a new career, or lifelong learners and seniors seeking enrichment through education. This fall’s noncredit offerings include English Language Development, GED and citizenship preparation, courses in basic computer skills, and career training programs in commercial truck driving, green gardening and landscaping, and childcare, among many others.

“At Community Education, we offer something for everyone,” said Hancock Dean of Academic Affairs Alicia Paniagua. “Our programs are here to support and inspire students no matter where they are in their journeys.”
