Hancock Hosts "Pathways to Success"

A group of people engage in conversation at an indoor educational event. A woman wearing a yellow sweater and black-rimmed glasses gestures while speaking to three other attendees, two women and one man, who are listening attentively. One woman holds a clipboard, while the others hold small cups of snacks. In the background, there are informational posters on display, including one titled 'Pathways to Success' about Allan Hancock College's fashion studies program. The event takes place in a modern space with large windows, high ceilings, and track lighting. Other attendees can be seen conversing in the distance.

MARCH 6, 2025-- Hundreds of local educators and industry leaders gathered at Allan Hancock College's Fine Arts Complex on March 4 for the college’s inaugural “Pathways to Success” networking event.

The event aimed to strengthen relationships between educators and local employers, enhancing the college-to-workforce pipeline.

Approximately 300 attendees participated, including representatives from 16 industry sectors, Hancock faculty and staff, Career and Technical Education (CTE) Advisory Committee members, area high school educators and other community members.

The evening featured engaging demonstrations by CTE students and faculty, inspiring student success stories, updates on the Early College program, and interactive breakout sessions designed to foster collaboration among attendees.

"This event is about bringing our community together to help students,” said Hancock Dean of Academic Affairs for Career and Technical Education Programs, Thomas Lamica. “We need the support of local industry and our educational partners, teachers, administrators and support staff to build programs that help students discover and navigate their career paths."

The 'Pathways to Success' event underscores Hancock’s commitment to fostering strong partnerships between education and industry, ensuring students are well-prepared for successful careers in the local workforce.
