Hancock Hosts Winter and Spring Registration Events

NOVEMBER 6, 2020 -- Allan Hancock College will help new and returning students register for winter and spring classes, apply for financial aid and more during special events at the college’s Santa Maria campus and Lompoc Valley Center.

Both events will take place in a safe and socially distanced manner on Nov. 9 and Nov. 10 from 1-4:30 p.m. at both campuses. Hancock staff will be available to help students register for winter and spring classes. Students will also receive assistance applying for financial aid to help pay for the cost of college and help finishing the steps needed to receive their first year at AHC tuition-free with the Hancock Promise if they qualify for the program.

“The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic continues to pose challenges for our students and their parents,” said Hancock President/Superintendent Kevin G. Walthers, Ph.D. “These registration events allow students to safely interact with our knowledgeable staff, who can answer their questions and help them navigate the registration, financial aid, and other important processes that will keep them on track to continue their education through the spring.”

Students and family members who attend the registration events are asked to wear facemasks and observe proper social distancing to ensure the health and safety of other students and Hancock staff.

Winter and spring classes at Hancock will be offered mostly remotely, with students accessing live classroom instruction using Zoom, Cranium Café and other online tools. Students unable to attend the in-person registration events can still register for classes and apply for financial aid online. Open registration for winter and spring classes at Hancock starts Dec. 14. Spring classes begin Jan. 19.
