Toyota of Santa Maria Partners With the Allan Hancock College Foundation to Support the Hancock Promise

JUNE 8, 2022 -- The Allan Hancock College Foundation is once again partnering with Toyota of Santa Maria to grow the endowment for the college’s popular Hancock Promise program.
This year, Toyota of Santa Maria is helping Allan Hancock College change the odds for students by donating $5,000 from the sale of a new 2022 Hybrid Tundra to the Hancock Promise endowment.
“A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this truck will help local high school graduates attend college for free,” said Hancock Superintendent/President Kevin G. Walthers, Ph.D. “This is a transformative program that has helped thousands of students get a college education.”
The Hancock Promise provides local high school graduates with the opportunity to get their first year of tuition and fees covered at Allan Hancock College. The program removes financial barriers and helps create pathways to increase college readiness, access, affordability, and success for students and their families. The Hancock Promise is open to all students who enroll at Hancock immediately after graduating from a high school located in the Allan Hancock Joint Community College District.
This marks the second time Toyota of Santa Maria has stepped up to support the Hancock Promise. In 2019, the dealership donated a portion of the proceeds from the sale of a limited edition Supra to the endowment. The hybrid Tundra is the first of its kind and represents the first major redesign of the popular truck since 2014.
“We are very excited to partner with Hancock again,” said Toyota of Santa Maria Sales Manager Carl Sainz. “This money will go to a very deserving group of students and help them get started on their college education and future careers.”
The Allan Hancock College Foundation has raised $5.5 million toward a $10 million goal to fund a permanent endowment to support the Hancock Promise into perpetuity.
Toyota of Santa Maria has a 26-year history of community service in the Santa Maria Valley and has partnered with hundreds of local organizations. They’ve won the prestigious Toyota President’s Award 19 times, a recognition very few dealers across the nation have received.
The 2022 Toyota Hybrid Tundra is currently on display in the showroom at Toyota of Santa Maria, located at 1643 S. Bradley Road.
