Hancock Student Named Phi Theta Kappa All-California Award Winner

APRIL 19, 2022 -- Allan Hancock College student Heidi Roberts of Lompoc has been named a 2022 Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) All-California Award winner.
Graduating from Hancock in May, Roberts is one of 114 California community college students to receive the prestigious statewide award this year, which recognizes the state’s top community college students. Grades, leadership, and community service determine who is selected for the awards.
“Our Hancock community is incredibly proud of Heidi. She deserves to be recognized for her hard work and achievement at the very highest level,” said Hancock Superintendent/President Kevin G. Walthers, Ph.D.
Roberts is graduating from Hancock with a long list of hard-earned academic achievements, including maintaining a 3.9 GPA for the last three years. She is a member of AHC’s Alpha Gamma Sigma Honors Society and is graduating with an associate degree in math and science. After graduation, she will transfer to Concordia University in Austin, TX, to pursue bachelor's and master's degrees in nursing.
“I am excited and honored to be named a PTK All-California winner,” said Roberts. “It was very uplifting and motivating as I get ready to graduate and move forward with my future.”
As an organization, PTK recognizes the academic achievement of college students and provides opportunities for its members to grow as scholars and leaders. Established in 1918, Phi Theta Kappa has a presence on almost 1,300 community college campuses in 11 nations. To learn more about the PTK and the All-California Awards, visit https://www.ptk.org.
