Hancock Seeking Nominations for Distinguished Alumni
APRIL 9, 2021 -- The Allan Hancock College Foundation is seeking nominations for distinguished Hancock alumni who will be recognized as part of the college’s Centennial Celebration.
To celebrate Hancock’s 100th anniversary, the foundation will compile a list of 100 alumni who have distinguished themselves in their professions, public service or other honorable and notable achievements.
“We welcome nominees from any era from Hancock’s 100-year history,” said Hancock Executive Director of College Advancement Jon Hooten. “Hancock has been a starting point for so many, and we want to tell the stories of those who have overcome long odds in their lives.”
Any member of the public can submit a nomination. Nominees must have attended Allan Hancock College (or Santa Maria Junior College) for a minimum of two semesters or 24 units or completed some other program or course of study at Hancock, such as the college’s public safety academy or PCPA program.
The 100 nominees who make the list will be selected by members of Hancock’s Centennial Committee and will be announced at the college’s live virtual Centennial Celebration on May 22.
Nominations must be submitted by April 15.
