FEBRUARY 22, 2022 -- Allan Hancock College is inviting Central Coast businesses to help expose local college and high school students to career opportunities within the community.

The college is accepting applications from businesses to participate in Hancock’s 16th annual Career Exploration Day on April 1. The in-person event is expected to draw more than 1,000 high school and college students to Hancock’s Santa Maria campus, where they will get the chance to meet with representatives from area businesses and learn more about Hancock’s career and technical education programs.

“Career Exploration Day showcases how programs at Hancock provide the necessary training and education students need to pursue successful careers,” said Thomas Lamica, Hancock Project Director, Career Center & K-12 Partnerships. “By participating, businesses in our community will help foster a well-trained labor force that will meet current and future employment needs.”

Space for businesses who wish to become exhibitors is free. Following the event, Hancock will also host an exhibitor luncheon where participants will meet faculty and industry peers, and learn about the various career and technical education programs available at the college.

A business can also choose to sponsor the event for a contribution of $250. Sponsor donations will help provide lunch and transportation for the attending students. Sponsor businesses will get their name advertised in the event’s printed program and sponsorship banner, receive reserved parking and valet services, and other accommodations.

Companies interested in attending the event as exhibitors or becoming sponsors must register by March 11. Registration is available at https://bit.ly/ahc_CED.
