Student Equity Plan 2025–2028

Allan Hancock College is committed to ensuring that every student has the support, opportunity, and sense of belonging needed to succeed. Our 2025–28 Student Equity Plan focuses on improving outcomes for first-generation and Hispanic/Latine male students, who continue to experience the greatest barriers across enrollment, course completion, retention, and transfer.

The plan outlines a college-wide effort to strengthen onboarding, expand academic and basic needs support, and embed culturally responsive teaching and services throughout the institution. Key strategies include a redesigned First Year Experience program, enhanced math and English support, integrated tutoring and mentoring, expanded Summer Bridge, and intrusive counseling. The college is also investing in stronger high school partnerships, increased financial and basic needs resources, and professional development that helps faculty and staff create inclusive and affirming learning environments.

Hancock will use data, student voice, and continuous evaluation to guide decisions and ensure transparency. By aligning resources, strengthening collaboration, and centering racial equity, the college aims to eliminate systemic barriers and help disproportionately impacted students reach their educational goals.

Allan Hancock College remains dedicated to building a campus where every student can thrive and where equity is reflected in everyday practice, culture, and outcomes.
