Sound recording and electronic music play an increasingly vital role in our society. Allan Hancock College’s sound technology certificate prepares students for careers in live and in-studio sound recording and sound reinforcement, as well as film, television, radio and more. Taught by working professionals on industry-standard equipment, students learn the basic terminology associated with acoustics and sound recording, get hands-on experience participating in sound recording and mix-down sessions, and produce and record their own works of electronic music.
The sound recording certificate can also be valuable preparation for enrolling in an advanced commercial music school.
