Are you interested in human anatomy and medical diagnostics? If so, radiography could be your calling.

Allan Hancock College's pre-radiography program, in partnership with Santa Barbara City College (SBCC), provides a pathway to a career as a radiographic technologist.

This program:

  • covers essential anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology for radiographic imaging.
  • ensures priority clinical placement in local health facilities.
  • meets the prerequisites for transfer* to SBCC's JRCERT-accredited Associate of Science in Radiography program. 
    • Students need to apply to SBCC in the fall to be eligible to register for spring classes at SBCC.
The Pre-radiography Certificate will eventually lead to career opportunities as a radiologic technologist in hospitals, imaging centers, and clinics. With further education and training in specific radiographical technologies, there are career options in ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT) scans, and in areas of quality control, research, and management.
