CLEP Fees & Payment
Payment Types
Check or Credit Card (see Registration Check List)
Checks for multiple exams must be written separately (2 exams = 2 checks to CLEP for $80 each). The check or money order made payable to AHC for administration of the CLEP test can include multiple testings on the same testing day. (2 exams on the same date = 1 check to AHC for $70)
Fee for CLEP
A fee of $80 is charged per exam and an adminstration fee of $35 per exam.
Who is Eligible for DANTES-Funded CLEP Exams?
As of January 20, 2011, DANTES will only pay for one test administration of each test title. Click HERE to go to the DANTES-funded information page.
Administration Fee for the Optional Essays
A fee of $10 is charged to cover the processing of the optional essays if your college elects to suppliment essays available from CLEP or with a writing assessment of their own with the College Composition Modular.
The $10 fee is payable to CLEP and must be paid by separate check or money order. This fee is separate from the $80 exam fee and must be brought/mailed to the testing center prior to test day so staff can order the essay. It usually takes at least three weeks to get the essay from CLEP or your institution.
Refunds
If you have prepaid your $80 fee to CLEP and you cancel your exam, or do not come to the appointment, CLEP will refund that fee within 3-5 weeks after the scheduled exam date.
Your payment of $35 to AHC is not refundable.
