Steve H. Hancock grad/Internet entrepreneur For me, it all began at Allan Hancock College. I didn’t know this path would end up taking me into a whole new industry—but Hancock is where it started. Through a series of professional opportunities, I became an early pioneer of the World Wide Web, harnessing its possibilities into some of the first online advertising. I graduated from Cabrillo High School in 1982 and then attended Hancock to pursue a degree in journalism. I later graduated from Cal Poly. In the 1990s, I made regular appearances on CNBC and other media as an Internet expert. Currently, I am developing a new project I call RatorGators which allows people to rate and review anything from the Web or their own media, share with friends, get consensus and meet new people with similar interests. I truly believe that if you don’t start somewhere, you end up nowhere. If you don’t get that first foot going, you’re never going to go anywhere. Hancock gave me a lot of confidence and a foundation for success.
