Some Temporary Student Service Disruptions Expected as Offices Move Into New Buildings

Temporary disruptions to occur Oct. 23-25.

OCTOBER 10, 2013 -- Allan Hancock College Student Services programs will move into the new Student Services building A on Oct. 22-28, 2013. Some services offered by Admissions and Records, Financial Aid, cashiering and others will be unavailable during portions of this period. A temporary set up for essential services, including cashiering, will be available to students Oct. 23-25. It will be located in the Santa Maria campus Student Center, room G103.

Services will resume in the new Student Services Building A on Oct. 28.  The new facility, which consists of buildings A and A2, will house all student services in one location.  The two-story structure is positioned at the east end of campus off the Bradley Road entrances. 

The move into Building A2 in the same complex will begin Nov. 12 and conclude Nov. 15 with services open to students and the public on Nov. 18, 2013.  A2 primarily houses the Learning Assistance Program (DSPS) and the Testing Center.

The current administration building will move to its new location next to the Student Services building beginning Dec. 11 with offices open by Dec. 16, 2013.

The new facilities were made possible by funding from Bond Measure I and the state. “We are looking forward to serving students and the community in these fully functional facilities built to enhance our service to students,” said college spokeswoman Rebecca Alarcio. “Students have waited patiently, and now we can deliver on our promise of ‘one-stop service.’ ”
