Hancock Jazz Band Announces Annual Spring Concert on May 18

Performance starts at 7 p.m. at the Unity Chapel of Light Church in Orcutt

JazzBandMAY 1, 2017--The Allan Hancock College Jazz Band will perform an eclectic mix of arrangements during its annual Spring Concert on Thursday, May 18, at 7 p.m. The concert promises to be a toe-tapping great time with hit songs such as It's All Right With Me, Crunchy Frog, Begin the Beguine, Europa, Funk Tank, Sway, When I Fall In Love and I Get A Kick Out Of You.

The group, led by Chuck Osborne, has been performing on the Central Coast for several decades. The band, composed of Allan Hancock College students and other members of the community enrolled under the college’s Community Education program, features nearly 30 musicians in a standard “swing" or "jazz band” configuration. Female vocalist, Kathryn Loomis, and male vocalist, Michael Dias, will accompany the musicians.

The event is free, though a $10 donation is requested to help the band purchase new musical arrangements.

The concert will take place at the Unity Chapel of Light Church, located at 1165 Stubblefield Road in Orcutt.
