Hancock Jazz Band Announces Annual Winter Concert on Dec. 7

Jazz BandNOVEMBER 30, 2017--The Allan Hancock College Jazz Band will perform their annual Winter Concert on Thursday, Dec. 7, at 7 p.m. The concert will feature an eclectic mix of arrangements, including: “Birdland,” Route 66,” “The Way We Were,” “Almost Like Being in Love,” “Blue Monk,” “What a Wonderful World,” “Cold Duck Time,” “Feeling Good,” “A Few Good Men,” “Blue Skies,” “Besame Mucho,” and as always, an encore.

The group, led by Chuck Osborne, has been performing on the Central Coast for several decades. The band, composed of Allan Hancock College students and other members of the community enrolled under the college’s Community Education program, features more than 20 musicians in a standard “swing" or "jazz band” configuration. Female vocalists Angelique Bodine, Rachel Kydd and male vocalist Chris Edwards will accompany the musicians.

The event is free, though donations are accepted to help the band purchase new musical arrangements.

The concert will take place at the Unity Chapel of Light Church, located at the Unity Chapel of Light Church, 1165 Stubblefield Road, in Orcutt.
