Kids Get Creative in Art Classes

Two classes offered this summer.

CFK Mask Painting ClassJUNE 26, 2014 -- Children can explore and expand their creativity this summer through arts and crafts classes offered by Allan Hancock College Community Education.

In Multicultural Art 2, students create imaginative paper mâché and mixed-media masks, based on animal masks of a variety of cultures and traditions from around the world.  This class is for ages 6-10 and meets Monday through Thursday, June 30-July 3, from 10 to 10:55 a.m. in bldg. S, Room S-112, on the Santa Maria campus.  The enrollment fee is $24, plus an additional $20 materials fee.

In Watercolor Painting for Kids, young students explore a variety of watercolor techniques such as washes and glazing, as well as mixed media.  Paint beautiful plants, landscapes, and create unique designs.  Students also create a series of beautiful paintings and learn about watercolor artists.  This class is for ages 12-16 and meets Monday and Wednesday, July 7-16, from 10 to 11:55 a.m. in Room S-112 on the Santa Maria campus.  The enrollment fee is $48, plus an additional $10 materials fee.

Preregistration is required.  Register in person at Community Education (bldg. S) on the Santa Maria campus Monday through Thursday between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.  Registration is not accepted in the class.
