Allan Hancock College Announces Spring 2014 Honors List

Nearly 700 students earned honors.

JUNE 25, 2014 -- Allan Hancock College has announced that 699 students were named to the Deans’ Honors List for the spring 2014 semester, including 279 named to the Special Honors List.  

The lists recognize students’ academic achievement at the college.  For each semester, students named to the deans’ list must complete at least 12 units with a 3.5 or better grade point average.  To be awarded special honors, students must complete at least 12 units with a 4.0 grade point average.

Of the 699 honorees, 242 graduated from Santa Maria Valley high schools; 100 from Lompoc Valley high schools; 72 from Five Cities high schools; 10 from Santa Ynez Valley high schools; and 275 from high schools outside the college’s district, including out-of-state and foreign high schools.  Home-schooled high school graduates are also listed in the out-of-district section, as are those for whom high school affiliation is unknown.

The 279 students named to the Special Honors List included 76 graduates from Santa Maria Valley; 30 each from the Lompoc Valley and from Five Cities; five from Santa Ynez Valley; and 138 from outside the college district.  

Total credit enrollment for the spring semester was approximately 11,500 students.
