Pops Concert is October 5

Presented by the AHC Concert Band

SEPTEMBER 20, 2013 -- The Allan Hancock College Concert Band will present its first concert of the season Saturday, October 5, at 7:30 p.m.  It will take place at First Baptist Church, 2970 Santa Maria Way, in Santa Maria. 

This concert will feature a wide variety of music – something for everyone to enjoy.  Numbers include:

  • “The Light Eternal,” by James Swearingen
  • “Moravian Folk Rhapsody,” by Robert Sheldon
  • Symphony No. 9 "From the New World" Finale, Themes by Dvorak, arranged by Daehn
  • “Mt. Everest,” by Rossano Galante
  • “Concerto Gross,” by James Ployhar, featuring the Lynn Family
  • “Glenn Miller in Concert,” arranged by Paul Murtha
  • “Michael Jackson: Through the Years,” arranged by Michael Brown
  • “Robin Hood Prince of Thieves,” arranged by Paul Lavender
