Sixty-nine Additional Spring Classes Offered in the Lompoc Valley

Plus: All public safety training classes now offered at the LVC

NOVEMBER 8, 2013 -- Allan Hancock College is offering more than 150 credit classes at its Lompoc Valley and Vandenberg AFB centers during the spring 2014 semester, 69 more since last spring.

Credit classes offered in the Lompoc Valley range from agribusiness to paralegal studies.  (See the list.)  Many of the added classes are being offered during the day, to provide more options for residents.

Most of the Lompoc Valley classes are semester-length classes that begin the week of Jan. 21.  Others are Term 3 eight-week classes that also begin Jan. 21, Term 4 eight-week classes that begin March 24 and Fast Track classes lasting eight weeks or less that begin throughout the semester.

Among the new classes at the Lompoc Valley Center are the 30 public safety training classes being offered at the newly-completed Public Safety Training Complex located west of the original main campus.  These classes were formerly located at the college’s Santa Maria campus.

These classes are in addition to the 971 spring credit classes being offered at the Santa Maria campus, in the Santa Ynez Valley, at off-campus sites and online.

Another 21 Community Education classes are being offered at several Lompoc locations, including the Lompoc Valley Center.  No enrollment fees are charged for most of these classes, however, some classes require a $5 materials fee and others are “fee-based,” meaning there is a charge.

Details about all spring classes, both credit and Community Education, are available at www.hancockcollege.edu; click the Class Search link on the home page and then select Spring 2014Class Search provides real-time information available 24/7.  For details about classes offered at locations other than the Lompoc Valley, click Class Search and then search by location.  For details about a specific class, click its blue CRN.

To register online, visit www.hancockcollege.edu and click Apply and Register.

All California residents pay a $46 per credit enrollment fee.  In addition, all students pay a $19 health fee.  Other minimal fees may apply.  Financial aid is available.  To see if you qualify, contact the Santa Maria campus financial aid office at (805) 922-6966 ext. 3200 or finaid@hancockcollege.edu.

Print copies of the spring 2014 Schedule at a Glance will be available Nov. 18 at all college sites and local public libraries, while supplies last.  The Schedule at a Glance contains a basic listing of fall credit classes available at the time of publication.  Students must still access the online Class Search to obtain the details they will need in order to plan their spring class schedule.

For more online registration information, click the Apply & Register link, then Application & Registration Information.

The general public is welcome to attend college classes at Vandenberg AFB – classes are not restricted to base personnel.  Students not residing on base who enroll in classes at the college’s Vandenberg AFB Center will be issued an access permit for the duration of the class(es).

For more information about credit classes and registration, call the Lompoc Valley Center at (805) 735-3366 or the Vandenberg AFB Center at (805) 734-3500 or (805) 605-5915.  For information about Community Education classes, call (805) 922-6966 ext. 3209.
