Summertime Four-Day Workweek Begins June 17

The college will be closed for seven Fridays.

JUNE 14, 2013 -- The Allan Hancock College Board of Trustees has instituted a summertime four-day work week in order to reduce utility costs.  The four-day schedule will run for seven weeks beginning Monday, June 17.  The college and all centers will be closed the following Fridays: June 21 and 28; July 12, 19 and 26; and Aug. 2 and 9.

The college does not offer classes on Fridays during the summer term.  Employees will work longer hours Monday through Thursday to maintain the same level of public access and student service.

The week of July 1-5 will be a regular work week, but all college locations will be closed Thursday, July 4, in recognition of the Independence Day holiday.

One noted exception to the Friday closure is PCPA – the theatre and its offices will remain open on Fridays throughout the summer.

Full college operations, Monday through Friday, will resume the week of Aug. 12.  Fall classes begin Aug. 19.
