Spring 2013 Honors Lists Announced

More than 650 named to deans and special honors list.

JULY 15, 2013 -- Allan Hancock College has announced that 656 students were named to the Deans Honors List for the spring 2013 semester, including 294 named to the Special Honors List.  

The lists recognize students’ academic achievement at the college.  For each semester, students named to the deans list must complete at least 12 units with a 3.5 or better grade point average.  To be awarded special honors, students must complete at least 12 units with a 4.0 grade point average.

Of the 656 honorees, 247 graduated from Santa Maria Valley high schools; 73 from Lompoc Valley high schools; 70 from Five Cities-area high schools; 14 from Santa Ynez Valley high schools; and 252 from high schools outside the college’s district, including out-of-state and foreign high schools.  Home-schooled high school graduates are listed in the out-of-district section, as are those for whom high school affiliation is unknown.

The 294 students named to the Special Honors List included 92 graduates from Santa Maria Valley; 26 from the Lompoc Valley; 25 from the Five Cities area; five from Santa Ynez Valley; and 146 from outside the college district.  

Total credit enrollment for the spring 2013 semester was approximately 11,500 students.
