Cameron Artis-Payne is All-America Offensive Player of the Year

He recently signed with Auburn University.

CArtis-PayneJanuary 9, 2013 -- Allan Hancock College running back Cameron Artis-Payne, shown with the ball in action against El Camino last fall, has won his last award as a community college football player.  He was recently recognized as the All-America First Team Offensive Player of the Year.  In addition, Artis-Payne was named All-California Region IV First Team Offensive Player of the Year.

Artis-Payne recently signed with Auburn University as a mid-year transfer after his very successful career at Allan Hancock College.  He finished the 2012 season at the top of the state in multiple categories, including yards gained, yards per game and touchdowns scored.  He broke four school records for career and season-high rushing yards and touchdowns.  Artis-Payne averaged 202.8 yards per game this season and ended the year with 2,048 total rushing yards and 25 touchdowns.

The All-America and All-California teams were selected by the California Community College Football Coaches Association Board of Directors, along with the JC Athletic Bureau.
