Bulldog Football Ranked Sixth

The Allan Hancock College football team is ranked sixth in Southern California in the California Community College Regional Football Poll after their first conference game, a 49-40 win over Moorpark College.

At 3-1 overall and 1-0 in conference, the Bulldogs are one of the top offensive teams in the state, ranked third in California in total offense and second in rushing yards.  The Bulldogs average 296 rushing yards per game, with the assistance of sophomore Cameron Artis-Payne, who has averaged 196 yards per game so far this season.

Artis-Payne was recently named the National Division Northern Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season after running for 239 yards against Moorpark College and scoring four touchdowns.  He is currently tied for the top in the state in touchdowns with 11.

Hancock is in second place in the National Division Northern Conference, trailing Ventura College, currently 4-0 overall and ranked second in Southern California.  The Bulldogs have an upcoming bye week, followed by a home contest against Los Angeles Harbor College on Saturday, Oct. 6, at 4 p.m. at the Righetti High School stadium.
