Fall Classes Still Available - Register Now!

Nearly three dozen classes are available.

Nearly three dozen fall credit classes are still open at Allan Hancock College, with offerings at the Santa Maria campus, Lompoc Valley Center, Vandenberg AFB Center and online.

Classes start in September, October and November and include art, business, office information systems, dance, emergency medical services, engineering, entrepreneurship, environmental technology, film, fire technology, global studies, geography, multimedia arts and communication, personal development, physical science, real estate, speech communication and welding.

Just added to the fall schedule:

  • A new online section of ART 101, Art Appreciation, CRN 21878.  This three-credit class provides a study of the visual arts as an expression of thought and culture.  The eight-week class begins Oct. 15 and requires a minimum of 6.8 hours of online participation per week.  Orientation information will be emailed to students.  All quizzes and exams are online; no on-site attendance is required.  Last day to register is Oct. 18.  The instructor is Helen Talkin.  Students may contact her at htalkin@hancockcollege.edu.

 An interesting business class still available is:

  • ENTR 103, New Venture Laboratory, CRN 21858.  REGISTER NOW for this two-credit class that teaches budding entrepreneurs how to launch their business – and maybe win $1,000 in the process!  Students will work in teams, using technology to create a business and marketing plan and interacting with entrepreneurs, suppliers, customers and experts.  The teams present their business ideas to a panel of judges for a chance to win.  The 16-week class begins Sept. 12, meeting Wednesdays from 2:10 to 6:25 p.m. in room K-12 on the Santa Maria campus.  Last day to register is Sept. 12.  Instructor is Anne Cremarosa, Ed.D.; For more information, contact her at 922-6966 ext. 3418.

Also available through the business department is:

  • RE 302, Legal Aspects of Real Estate, CRN 21845.  This three-credit class covers California real estate law affecting property ownership and management, contracts, transfers, probate, trust deeds and foreclosures.  It includes review of recent legislation governing transactions.   The eight-week class begins Oct. 15, meeting Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:30 to 9:40 p.m. in room K-25 on the Santa Maria campus.  The last day to register is Oct. 17.  Prerequisite is RE 100.  Instructor is James Rigali.  For more information, contact the business department at 922-6966 ext. 3239.
