Kids Learn How to Use Digital Camera in New Class

Class meets Saturdays, Oct. 5-26.

SEPTEMBER 13, 2013 -- There is still time to register your child in Digital Photography for Kids, a new class for kids and teens ages 10-14 now being offered by Allan Hancock College Community Education.

In this fun, creative class, kids learn the basics of how to use a digital camera, become familiar with various settings, camera position, work with two-dimensional design elements such as “framing” a photograph when taking it and what to include or edit from the picture.  Students will also learn how to communicate a concept or emotion.

The class meets Saturdays, Oct. 5-26, from 9 to 11:55 a.m. on the AHC Santa Maria campus, Room S-103.  The class fee is $72, plus a $5 materials fee.  Instructor Theresa Gingras is a professional Central Coast photographer who specializes in architectural advertising and design photography.

Students should bring a camera to class.

Register now at Community Education (bldg. S) on the Santa Maria campus.

For more information, call (805) 922-6966 ext. 3209.  View the fall 2013 Spectrum schedule of Community Education classes online for admission and registration details.  Print copies are also available at all campus locations.
