Writing for Professionals

Nurse
If you find your own writing boring, so will somebody else.
Michael Dirda, Washington Post Book Section, at the NIH Plain Language Award Ceremony.

We know that writing doesn’t only happen in your English class, so the Writing Center is open to students from all disciplines. Nurses, Police Officers, Firefighters, and teachers all write as part of their day-to-day work. Many engineers and graphic designers are also expected to have exceptional technical writing skills in order to succeed in their fields. Students preparing for work in these fields may hone their writing skills by visiting the Writing Center or with help from the Online Writing Lab.

Below are documents and links to help you begin to hone your professional writing skills.
