E-mail Reference Service
Welcome to the Allan Hancock Reference Service. This reference service is available
to staff and students and is limited to questions that have concise, factual answers.
You may ask up to three questions per day. If you require further assistance,
please visit your local college library.
Every reasonable attempt will be made by library staff to respond to e-mail reference
questions within 24 hours (except for holidays and school breaks).
If you have a more immediate need for reference services, please call:
- Hancock (922-6966, ext. 3322),
- Visit your local library.
What we can answer by e-mail
- All questions must be class-related.
- We will answer questions that can be answered with short, factual responses,
such as addresses or phone numbers of businesses or organizations,
a historical fact or date, the source of a quotation, etc.
- We can suggest appropriate sources for beginning or continuing your research.
What we can't answer by e-mail
- We regret that we cannot offer in-depth reference services to patrons via e-mail.
- We cannot answer requests for extensive bibliographies on a topic, questions
requiring legal or medical interpretation, or questions that require searching on
microfilm.
Ask your question
Please use the form below to submit your question. Include in your description the
limits or context of the question -- e.g., what class does your question pertain
