What is Distance Learning

Distance education means instruction in which the instructor and student are separated by distance and interact through the assistance of technology.  Distance Learning provides educational opportunities that are not limited to the time and space constraints of traditional classes.

Online instructors utilize a wide variety of tools such as online lectures, assignments, tests, discussion forums, and streaming video.  Our online courses are offered online through a course learning management system (CMS) called Blackboard Learn. Instructors may also use additional software and websites, depending on the course. Details and special requirements for each course can be found by clicking the CRN link on the online Class Schedule Search web page.

Administration of Justice Student

"I came to Allan Hancock College with no plan or goal. The friendly staff here helped me see all the opportunities that are available and helped me shape my goals. The administration of justice program inspired me to look at jobs I never thought I would find. My goal now is to transfer to a four-year university."
