Configuration Notes:

  • Internet Explorer 8 and 9 are only supported tested in Standards Mode.
  • Blackboard strives to make all its products as accessible as possible. JAWS 13 and 14 were used during accessibility testing of Blackboard 9.1 sp. 13.
  • Both Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox have moved to a rapid release cycle. At the time of testing, Chrome 126.0.x and Firefox 30.0.x and 17.0.x (ESR) were the latest available versions. Since then, new stable versions have been released and widely adopted. Blackboard is supporting all newer stable versions of Chrome and Firefox.
  • If the computer you are using has a compatible browser, you still may be able to use parts of Blackboard 9.1. However, you may experience issues, especially when completing quizzes and tests or using chat and the virtual classroom.
  • Blackboard 9.1 requires that your Web browser conforms to certain standards. If you have an out-of-date or unsupported browser, you will need to download either a certified version of your current browser or a different browser before attempting to log in to Blackboard 9.1.

The following technologies are not supported:

  • Internet Explorer 6 and Internet Explorer 7
  • Firefox 1.x, 2.0, 3.0, and 3.5 and 3.6
  • Safari 2.0, 3.x (or any version on Windows)
  • Windows XP 64-bit
  • Mac OSX 10.3, OSX 10.4, OSX 10.5"
  • Java 5 though it may continue to work

Note to America Online (AOL) Users:
The AOL browser is not compatible with Blackboard 9.1. However, you can use your AOL Internet connection with one of the Web browsers listed above for your operating system to access Blackboard 9.1. Browser Configuration
