Blackboard Instructions
If you are an EOPS student, you now have access to the EOPS Blackboard site. Here, you will find the most current EOPS information.
Blackboard Log In Information
1) Go to the Allan Hancock College website (http://www.hancockcollege.edu)
2) Click on the Hancock-online net Blackboard button
3) Click the new Hancock-online net Blackboard button when it appears
4) Click the login button.
Blackboard Username: Our current username convention is:
-First initial of your first name, lowercase
-First initial of your last name, lowercase
-And the last FIVE digits of your SSN.
Example--Jane Smith SSN 123-45-6789
User name would be js56789
Blackboard Password:
Use your username as your initial password.
NOTE: You may change your password but NOT your username.
To change your password:
-Log in
-Click on Personal Information under Tools (left side of screen)
-Click on Change Password
-Enter your new password in the text fields and click the submit button.
-Blackboard will display a receipt indicating a successful change.
Known Issues with Blackboard Access--from OFF CAMPUS
AOL, Compuserv and Yahoo ISP users
If you are an AOL, Compuserv or Yahoo user, it is likely you will have difficulty accessing Blackboard from their browers. Try the following:
-Connect to the Internet as you always do
-Minimize your connection program
-Open Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher OR Netscape 7.1
-Navigate to Blackboard and try again.
Windows and Internet Explorer
-Some problems connecting to Blackboard are a result of setting browser
security too high. Set security at "medium".
-Do not disable cookies or ative scripting.
-Some popup blocking software will interfere with your ability to use
Blackboard.
-Personal firewall software may also interfere with your ability to use
Blackboard.
-Do NOT navigate to Blackboard using a bookmark.
Blackboard needs to establish a session cookie. This is especially true
if you are taking a quiz or test. |
