This committee is responsible for providing support and assistance for those functions
that are the primary responsibility of faculty pursuant to board policy 4100. Responsibilities
include training departmental faculty in their role in faculty hiring; training and
supporting faculty serving as diversity resource specialists; working closely with
human resources to support policy compliance; recommending procedural modifications
as needed; and supporting departments in providing a positive experience for all candidates.
Membership consists of five faculty members appointed by the Academic Senate Executive
Committee for staggered two-year terms. At least one member shall be a current senate
representative. The chair shall be elected by the members of the committee. Meetings
shall be held as needed based on the faculty hiring calendar.
