The business program at Allan Hancock College introduces students to how business
operates and prepares them for positions in the business world. Students also learn
why many business graduates choose to start their own businesses rather than work
The business curriculum explores business strategies that allow managers to compete
in today’s dynamic, global marketplace. Business in the 21st century requires that
managers connect people, technology, and ethics in order to form strong partnerships
with customers, employees, and other organizational stakeholders.
The curriculum at Allan Hancock College is carefully designed to prepare you for employment
or further education in several business concentrations:
Business Certificate Program
Seven certificate programs including one 24-unit business certificate are designed
to provide students with the basic business skills needed for immediate employment
in the business environment. AHC also offers eight 48-hour "fast-track" certificates
of completion with classes scheduled primarily in the evenings and on weekends that
is designed to provide short-term vocational training to help students quickly acquire

Department at Allan Hancock College will help you prepare for an entry-level job –
your first permanent employment after leaving school. During your studies, you will
look at a range of business careers and discuss employment opportunities in fields
that are related to each area of study. You will learn about jobs that best match
your personal strengths and interests. In addition, Allan Hancock College provides
a strong foundation for transfer to four-year universities.
