Allan Hancock College recognizes that as part of its educational mission, it seeks to serve a broad range of students’ needs, abilities and interests. The Honors Program offers enriching experiences to improve education, provide challenges, and motivate academically talented students who strive for advanced academic achievement. Honors courses are two-unit Independent Project courses taken concurrently with, or after completion of, specific college-level general education courses. Students must be enrolled in, or previously have completed, any section of the general education course to take the Honors course associated with it. Honors courses will count towards units for graduation, as well as give students an edge over others in today's highly competitive environment. Honors Program membership can be mentioned on a resume, cover letter, and at a job interview.
