Fire, Safety and Emergency Services includes: 1) Fire Technology; 2) Fire Academy; 3) Wildland Fire Technology; 4) Emergency Medical Services; 5) Environmental Technology
1), 2) and 3) The Fire Technology, Fire Academy and Wildland Fire Technology are responsible for fire service training in three college districts. Our courses are taught from Paso Robles to Carpinteria. These courses are for pre-service and in-service students. Allan Hancock College is a Regional Fire Academy for the California State Fire Marshal’s office and teaches their certified courses. The Wildland Fire Technology courses are certified by the National Wildfire Coordinating Group and lead to an A.S. degree.
4) The EMS program is for pre-service and in-service students. Our A.S. degree has courses ranging from Wilderness/Remote Area First Aide to EMT. The Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo county EMS agencies and the State of California EMS authority have approved our courses. The A.S. degree has a wide variety of offerings to meet the needs of both public and private agencies for emergency medical training.
5) The Environmental Technology degree program offers courses that are certified by the California Specialized Training Institute. We offer industrial safety and compliance courses to industry to help them meet the ever changing federal and state regulation.
