The Allan Hancock College Santa Maria campus is located on California's beautiful Central Coast, halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco. The campus lies about 35 miles south of San Luis Obispo, 60 miles north of Santa Barbara, and about 10 miles from the ocean. The 105-acre, park-like setting contains administration and academic departments housed in nearly three dozen buildings. The campus features a modern Student Center; the Sports Pavilion, including the Joe White Memorial Gymnasium; and the Marian and Severson theatres, home of the Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts, the only training program of its kind in the country offered by a community college. Other recent additions to the campus are the remodeled and expanded library/Academic Resource Center and new community education and science buildings. Plans are currently under way to develop and build a new Student Services One-Stop Center, an expanded Children's Center, and new fine arts and industrial technology facilities. |
